Extra heat for the cold days

Brrr! It sure is chilly out this winter. That’s the reason why I’m not a big winter fan – I hate the cold. I’m actually looking into purchasing a room heater like these gas wall heaters from DESA. I think it would be great for in my bedroom at night – because it sure gets cold in there! My friend has recently purchased one for her living room and loves it! She’s even buying one for her sister as a Christmas present, which I think is a great idea. I really like that the gas wall heaters from DESA are vent-free and can heat large areas. I especially like this one, which heats up to 700 square feet! Or maybe this one – its only $106! I don’t know which one I’ll end up choosing, but I think they’re a really great idea for keeping warm, and I know my family will agree!

Johnny Depp Has a New Movie!

I don’t know about you, but I absolutely love Johnny Depp! I have enjoyed all of his movies, but my two favorites are definitely the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie, the Curse of the Black Pearl, and Finding Neverland.
In The Curse of the Black Pearl, Depp plays Jack Sparrow, plays the “Pirate Lord of the Caribbran Sea”, trying to get his ship, The Black Pearl, back from his enemy, Hector Barbossa. My favorite scene in this movie is when Jack Sparrow and Elizabeth Swann are stranded on an island after being captured. Sparrow proceeds to drink the rum left behind by rum-runners, until, to his dismay, Elizabeth uses the rum to start a fire to help save them.
Finding Neverland is a wonderful movie about the life of the author of Peter Pan, James Matthew Barrie, played by Johnny Depp. In this movie, Depp’s character, Barrie, becomes close to a widowed woman, Sylvia, and her four sons. Through them, he comes up with the story of Peter Pan. My favorite scene is when he creates the “ship” for the children in the backyard.
Overall, Johnny Depp is a great actor in both movies, but I do think that I like his character Jack Sparrow a little bit better. Depp’s talent makes Pirates of the Caribbean a magnificent movie for anyone especially with the comedic twist he adds.
Johnny Depp has a new movie coming out on December 21st called Sweeny Todd. Visit the official Sweeney Todd movie site! It’s based on the musical Sweeny Todd and tells the story of Benjamin Barker who starts a barber shop, while trying to get rid of anyone who has done him wrong. I can’t wait to see it! I’ve been really busy lately, with the holidays coming up so quickly and all. I absolutely love the holidays, but sometimes, with all the presents and food and parties, they can cost a bit of money. Around this time of year, I'm always looking to make money. So, I’ve got some great news – I signed up for PayPerPost! PayPerPost is a great opportunity for those with blogs to earn some extra money!
After qualifying (there are a few minor qualifications), I now have the opportunity to earn some extra income from my blog by writing sponsored posts! There are so many opportunities; there is definitely something for everyone! Plus, the posts are informative and interesting to provide more great content for your readers.
PayPerPost is such an easy and even fun way to make money, I highly recommend it! Although there are other paying blogging companies, PayPerPost not only has a great rep, but the website is very user-friendly. Another great thing about PayPerPost is the option to donate your earnings to charity, which is great for those who do not currently have the extra cash to do that.

Enchanted!

I saw Enchanted last weekend! It was very cute and quite funny. My boyfriend even liked it! We ended up seeing it because we wanted to go to the movies and the closest theater to us only shows 2 movies at a time, so it was that or the very controversial The Golden Compass. This weekend I Am Legend comes out and I definitely want to see that! But we probably won't see it this weekend because it's opening weekend so the IMAX version (which we'd want to see) will probably be sold out.

Anyways, a couple of days ago, I signed up for Entrecard! It's a great, free way to get traffic to your blog!

Online Backgammon!

When I was little, my sister and I used to love to play backgammon. Because of that, I was really excited to find online backgammon at gammon-world.com! The best part is that it's free to download the software and to start playing backgammon for money! The tournaments go from $5 to $50,000! I know I've definitely rediscovered my favorite game and I think online backgammon is the way to go!

I hate snow

So basically, it's only 12:40 in the afternoon and already I've had a really awful day. First, I have the worst time getting back to sleep after my boyfriend left this morning. So on 7ish hours of sleep, I decide to get up and start my homework. Well, last night, I turned ff my ringer and planned to leave it off for most of today, in hopes I get most of the tons and tons of homework I have done. So I go downstairs, plug in my computer, turn it on and wait. And then I continue to wait as it shows that I'm NOT connected to the internet. I unplugged it and plugged it back it - nothing. I tried plugging it in the Xbox...nothing. So our internet is basically out. Then I take a shower and decide to try the whole thing again and get the same results. So I'm thinking, guess it's time to go home and do laundry anyways. I go and warm up and brush off my car. While I'm waiting for my car to warm up, I check my phone. And of course, the day I turn it off, I have 4 missed calls and a voicemail (plus some random text messages but those aren't important). All the missed calls and the voicemail is from my boyfriend's mom expecting me to take his dog for the day. Great. No way that's gonna happen. So I get in my car and try to back out of the driveway, and nope too much snow in the way... Although my boyfriend did tell me yesterday that my little Ford Focus could probably get over the pile of snow at the bottom of the driveway fine, that definitely didn't happen. I went and shoveled a little and tried again - nope. And again and again. Then, my boyfriend's mom decides to show up WITH the dog and expect me to take her... uhh no! I tried to explain all the homework and the fact that I have to go home but I'm pretty sure she was pissed. So she asks me to take the dog back to her house! What the hell? Umm well first of all, my car was full of laundry and school stuff. Second of all, I've barely driven in the snow before, why would I want to do it with a crazy dog in my car? So instead I told her I was going the opposite way. Finally she leaves, and I FINALLY (after shoveling AGAIN) get out of my driveway and head home on the stupid icy and snowy roads (which sucked). And then, of course my silly little car couldn't manage to get in my parent's driveway either. Thank god my step-dad was home to help me and listen to me cry (hey, my morning really sucked and I was beyond stressed)! Now I guess I'm just nervous that my boyfriend will be mad that I couldn't watch his dog. It's so ridiculous though, because his parents talk about what a pain the dog is and that she can't be left alone because she tears things up, and then they ask when we're going to take her! My boyfriend already works and this semester ends soon for me, which means I'll be looking for a job...what the hell are we supposed to do with the dog?!
Ughh, I feel better getting that out.
I'm sure tomorrow will be better....

Doughnuts at home!

Something cool that I forgot to mention yesterday... I get DailyCandy daily e-mails and yesterday they showed the Dough-Nu-Matic! I think it would make a great Christmas gift, and I'm thinking about getting it for my boyfriend (ok, and maybe me too!) to enjoy! All I've gotten him so far is a new wallet from Fossil.
Oh, and my step-dad thought of a really great present for my mom - a portable GPS! I definitely want to play with hers and consider getting one if I like it. But anyways I think it's a good creative gift since he usually gets her jewelry and sometimes she needs a little help with directions (as do I)!

Assassin's Creed

My boyfriend is very obsessed with Assassin's Creed for Xbox 360. I have to say though it is a really great game. It's very similar to Prince of Persia (same makers). I was originally thinking about getting it for him for Christmas but since a friend of ours lent it to us, I don't know if I should bother. He'll probably be done with it before Christmas at this rate anyways! Yep, it's that good =P
Anyways I made some really good cookies from this recipe. They're great for Christmas and taste so good! I didn't shape them as candy canes though because it seemed easier to do it this way.

Yesss! I'm so excited for the 1st Mark magalog of 2008! The chocolate orchid Self Sanctuary collection is coming out! I know I'll definitely be getting the body butter for my family & friends.

Another thing I'm very excited for in 2008 is the start of a new semester! I think I'd really like to take an economics class, I loved it in high school. The other classes I'm taking are mostly just pre-req's and other courses that are required for MCC's Radiology Technology program...if I still decide that's what I want to do next fall. Who knows?

Video game tester

I found this really cool site where you learn how to get a job as a video game tester! I definitely want to sign up, that would be so cool! I love to play video games and if I could make money doing it, then why not?! The site is Gaming Testing Ground. I think the coolest thing would be to play unreleased games...how jealous would my boyfriend be? =)

I love Christmas shopping! The thrill of giving gifts is so much fun. I'm really bad at wrapping presents but oh well, I still have fun. If only I had the money to buy tons of stuff for my friends and family.
